By default, your profile is only shown in search results when they match your search settings, but you also theirs.You will therefore receive few or no visitors who search settings.
Members outside your search criteria can still visit your profile, but they cannot contact you.
By default, only logged in members can see your profile, unless you set your profile is "public" (Account => Privacy). Then non-members can also view your profile.
